illustrated here was made from around c1700 by Walter Archer of Stow. The engraved dial centre is very attractive and is typical of Archer's early work as is the ring-and-dot half-hour markers, cherub head spandrels and iron hand. The iron birdcage movement with hoop and spurs - hangs off the iron hook in the backboard of it's superb primitive pine case with attatched hood door pillars and lenticle to the trunk door.
